Altja Tavern is located in Lahemaa National Park in Northern Estonia. The distance between Tallinn and fishermen village of Altja is about 90 km. A tavern with an old thatched roof and genuine interior is a good place for travellers to stop for a good meal when travelling within this lovely neighbourhood.
Many marvellous manor houses and specially marked hiking paths are located near the village. When one reaches Altja, it is comfortable to park the car or tourist bus into our large parking lot. Before having a meal in the tavern, we suggest a little walk down the village road, a beautiful view to the see opens near the net sheds on the cape. On the way back, after swinging on the village swing, it is exactly the right time to make a stop in the tavern.
We offer simple, but very tasteful Estonian foods. When weather allows, one can sit on the terrace, have a picnic in our large courtyard or arrange an open-air party. During the summer, it is wise to book up the tables and food if you arrive with a larger group of people. On request, we can arrange the performance of folk musicians. Everybody is welcome!
We have 90 seats in the tavern. Please view our panoramic view.
